  • I drive more than 12,000 kilometres per year, is that allowed?

    Absolutely. If you drive more than the agreed 12,000 kilometres per year, you can easily purchase additional private lease kilometres. This is simple, affordable and unlimited. Any extra kilometres driven above 12,000 km will be settled with you either annually or monthly.

    Example:
    If you drive 5,000 extra kilometres per year (totalling 17,000 km), it will cost:
    5,000 x € 0.06 = € 300 per year, or € 25 per month.

  • Are all private lease cars always brand new?

    No. We offer both new cars and used ones. Our used cars are young vehicles with low mileage. Curious about our private lease options? On the “view cars” page, you can filter by new cars or used cars. That way, you’ll quickly see if there’s something that suits your needs.

  • Can I add accessories or options to my car?

    Yes, this is possible, but within certain limits. If you let us know which car and which accessories or options you are interested in, we will contact you to discuss your preferences. You will then receive a personalised private lease quote from us.

  • Can I choose all-weather tyres?

    Yes, you can choose all-weather tyres for a new lease car. These tyres are safe for both summer and winter driving. This is a contract option that costs €15 per month and can be selected when configuring your lease contract. Please note that it is not possible to add this option once the contract has started. Of course, you can always buy and fit them yourself.

    Are you interested in all-weather tyres for a used lease car? Please contact our Sales team. The rates for all-weather tyres on used lease cars may differ from the standard €15 per month.

    Tip: our all-weather tyres are approved under Germany’s stricter road regulations.

  • Can I choose winter tyres?

    At DirectLease, it is not possible to include winter tyres in your private lease contract. However, you are free to buy winter tyres yourself and have them fitted. Just keep in mind that the car must be returned in its original condition.

    It is possible to include all-weather tyres in your lease contract. These tyres are approved for use under stricter regulations, such as in Germany.

  • Can I put stickers on my lease car?

    Yes, you are allowed to apply stickers to your lease car. However, we ask that you return the car without any stickers at the end of the lease contract. Please keep in mind that any damage caused by removing the stickers will be charged to you.

  • Is the car equipped with stickers?

    No, our private lease cars are not provided with any stickers or promotional materials. The licence plates also do not include any Private Lease branding.

  • Why can manufacturer figures differ in real-world driving?

    At DirectLease, we always provide official manufacturer data (based on the WLTP standard), such as range, fuel consumption, charging speed, and load capacity. However, these figures may vary in practice. That’s because many factors influence actual consumption, charging time, and a car’s performance, regardless of the fuel type.

    What factors play a role?

    The stated values are measured under standardised test conditions. In reality, the actual figures are often less favourable than those provided by the car manufacturer. Several factors can impact efficiency and performance, including:

    • Driving style: Rapid acceleration and high-speed driving both consume more energy than a steady driving style.
    • Weather conditions: Cold, heat, and wind can all affect consumption and charging speed. Batteries perform best at temperatures between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.
    • Vehicle load: A heavier-loaded car uses more energy, especially when driving in hilly terrain.
    • Battery level: An electric car charges faster when the battery is at a low percentage. As the battery fills up, charging speed decreases.
    • Road surface and elevation changes: Driving in mountainous areas or on rougher asphalt requires more energy.
    • Use of air conditioning or heating: These systems consume extra electricity or fuel, which can reduce the driving range.
    • Driving conditions: For petrol cars, motorway driving is often more fuel-efficient than city driving. For electric cars, it’s the opposite – they consume more energy on the motorway than in urban traffic.
