  • What is private lease?

    Private leasing means you pay a fixed monthly amount to drive a car for a certain period. This monthly fee includes almost all the usual car costs, like road tax, roadside assistance, repairs, maintenance, tyres and insurance. Handy, right?

    The only things you pay for on top of that are fuel and any traffic fines you might get. At the end of your lease contract, you return the car and if you like, you can lease a new one.

  • What are the advantages of private lease?

    If you want to drive a fuel-efficient car, leasing is often the best solution. Your car costs are clear in advance and more or less fixed. With private lease, you do not have to worry about insurance, depreciation, tyres, repairs, maintenance or selling the car at the end of the lease term. The car is also purchased for you, so you don’t have to deal with that either.

  • What are the disadvantages of private lease?

    Private lease does not really have major downsides, but there are a few things to keep in mind before signing a lease contract:

    • Private lease is a financial commitment for a longer period. Typical contract terms are 24, 36, 48 or 60 months. Would you rather lease for a shorter period? Have a look at our monthly cancellable lease options.

    • You need to estimate how many kilometres you will drive.

    • The car does not become your property during the lease period.

    Are you younger than 20 or older than 70? No problem. At DirectLease, your age doesn’t matter. We believe private lease should be available to everyone.

    No surcharge for fewer no-claim years
    At DirectLease, the starting price is your actual monthly lease price. That amount is the same for everyone, no matter how many no-claim years you have. We think private lease should be affordable for everyone.

    Tip: you do build up no-claim years. You can request a statement at the end of your lease contract.
